Biography

Colin Diamond is the newest associate at Mathys & Schneid, Personal Injury Lawyers. Colin is a lifelong resident of DuPage County. He was born and raised in Wheaton and attended St. Francis High School. You might say Colin has personal injury law in his genes being the son of a former personal injury attorney. He took his first lessons in representing the victims of negligence while sitting around the dinner table. Along the way, Colin picked up traits that are important to any lawyer fighting on behalf of his clients. He learned that preparation overcomes most obstacles dating back to his high school days when he earned his Eagle Scout rank. Colin understands and empathizes with the special circumstances of clients who are injured negligently. There is not much that Colin fears after having faced down the barrel of a gun during a home invasion and armed robbery during law school. He will fight for his clients in the same way that he fought as a member of the Notre Dame boxing team. Having grown up with a special needs brother, Colin empathizes with those to whom life has dealt a difficult blow.

Colin graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2009 with a double major in Political Science and Spanish. He became a fluent speaker of Spanish during time spent abroad. Colin continued his education at Notre Dame, graduating from their law school in 2012. During law school, Colin was a clerk intern for the Honorable John Darrah of the federal district court of Northern Illinois. He was a recipient of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Award and a member of the Midwest Regional Championship team in mock trial.

After law school, Colin began his career at the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office where he worked in the traffic, misdemeanor, appeals and felony divisions. Colin gained experience trying a number of jury and bench trials and arguing matters before the appellate court.

Colin enjoys a variety of sports. He coaches the boys' track and field team for his elementary school and is involved in a number of charitable activities connected to special needs individuals. Colin is also a member of the education committee at his former high school and the Knights of Columbus. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the DuPage County Bar Association.
