Helping Out Victims Suffering Serious Brain Trauma
Brain injuries can be divided into two categories: traumatic and acquired. Acquired brain injuries typically result from strokes and other medical conditions. Traumatic brain injuries (TBI) are caused by external blows to the head such as those suffered in car accidents, truck accidents and motorcycle accidents. Concussion and post-concussion syndrome are often associated with traumatic brain injuries.
Mild, Moderate and Severe TBI
Traumatic brain injuries are classified as either mild, moderate or severe. These are medical classifications only. Our lawyers know that there is really no such thing as a mild traumatic brain injury. All brain injuries will have a serious impact on a person’s life. We provide compassionate and experienced representation to all brain injury victims as well as those who have suffered other types of serious injuries.
We know that mild traumatic brain injury (MTBI) cases can be just as complex as severe TBI cases. The complexities arise because these injuries can often be medically invisible. The constellation of symptoms, including memory loss, inability to focus, personality changes and depression, are unlikely to show up in an MRI. We need to work with neurologists and other experts to make it perfectly clear to our opponent, or to a jury if we go to trial, that the medical issues were the direct result of an auto crash or other act of negligence.
