An Algonquin man, charged with killing four friends while driving drunk and speeding, has waited more than four years to find out his fate. The 29-year-old pleaded guilty in October 2010 to charges of reckless homicide for a car crash that took place in September 2007.
An 81-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a garbage truck as she attempted to cross Main Street in Geneseo, Illinois, a city about 30 miles west of Chicago. According to responding police, the pedestrian accident occurred after the driver of a garbage truck turned onto Main Street where the woman was attempting to cross. The driver had stopped at a stop sign on the intersecting Center Street before negotiating his turn, so during investigations authorities may try to determine how the driver was not able to see the elderly woman in time.
