For cases involving car accidents, there is a deadline called the "statute of limitations" that sets the maximum amount of time you have to file a lawsuit. That amount of time will vary depending on the specific facts of your case. Because each case is unique, it is important you immediately consult with an attorney who can evaluate your legal situation and determine the exact deadline that applies to your case.
A 42-year-old Brookfield man waited in the back of an Illinois State Police car in DuPage County on an early Saturday morning after being involved in a car accident near Addison on Interstate 290, the Eisenhower Expressway. The civilian was uninjured and invited by the trooper to sit in the rear of the patrol car to avoid the cold weather. The state trooper was nearby, outside the patrol car, investigating the non-injury car crash.
