On January 7, 2018, a 71-year old West Chicago woman was southbound on Route 59 near Meade Road in West Chicago when she crossed the center dividing line and crashed into two other vehicles. The woman died in the crash while her passenger, a 78 year-old man, was seriously injured and transported to Central DuPage Hospital. The drivers of the two other vehicles were also injured and treated at the scene.
Many people overestimate their driving abilities. Part of this is due to different definitions of what being a "good driver" means, and another factor is being unable to recognize flaws in yourself that you would readily recognize in someone else.
