As the weather warms up and people seek to leave town for a few days, a great vacation can sometimes be ruined by the reckless and negligent actions of other individuals that can cause serious or even permanent injury. Here are some of the common causes of injuries during summer vacations:
On June 18, 2018, around 7:10 p.m., a Pace bus crashed with a passenger car on Boughton Road and Winston Drive in Bolingbrook, Illinois. Bolingbrook police are still investigating the cause of the crash, but the police reported that the bus struck a tree due to the crash. The bus driver became pinned between his seat and the tree, but was eventually freed by first responders. Authorities have not released the identities of the drivers, or if anyone was cited.
Anyone who has spent time on Chicago-area roads during rush hour knows exactly how congested they can be. In an effort to save time, money and stress during their daily commute, many from Naperville (and other suburbs) use mass transit. Although this is a convenient form of transportation, riders run the risk of becoming involved in a bus accident due to inattentive rush-hour drivers.
Every morning, parents throughout Illinois send their children on school busses with the hope that their children will arrive at school and make it back home safely. Unfortunately, Palatine was the site of a recent bus accident that left three children injured.
