Motor vehicle accidents: 6 injured during crash at bus stop

On Behalf of | Mar 29, 2020 | Motor Vehicle Accidents

A collision that took place at a bus stop in Illinois has reportedly left multiple individuals with severe injuries, two of whom were children. While waiting at a bus stop, individuals may rely on nearby drivers to take every precaution to remain in the lanes of traffic, as they likely stand little chance of moving out of the path of a fast moving vehicle. When the fallout of motor vehicle accidents spill over onto nearby pedestrians, the results can be cataclysmic.

According to reports, the incident occurred as several individuals were waiting at a bus stop at around 9 a.m. on a recent Wednesday. While many of the details concerning the initial crash remain unclear, police advised that as many as four vehicles were involved. The initial impact reportedly forced multiple vehicles to veer off the road and crash into the bus stop.

Authorities say that up to six individuals were taken to local hospitals for treatment of injuries following the crash. At least two of those involved were reportedly treated for severe injuries. It remains unclear what might have prompted the initial incident, or how many individuals were waiting at the bus stop at the time at which it took place.

It can take little more than a minor error in judgment to prompt a chain reaction incident that poses a threat to the safety of everyone nearby. Those who suffer severe harm in motor vehicle accidents involving similar circumstances and wish to seek insight on the next steps to take to seek restitution could benefit from seeking legal counsel as soon as possible. An attorney can examine the incident thoroughly and assist a client in Illinois in pursuing the full amount of compensation deserved through a personal injury claim.
