Premises liability claims on government property

A premises liability accident can happen anywhere, even on government-maintained property -- like sidewalks and roads. For example, it is not uncommon for serious accidents to happen as a result of a malfunctioning traffic light, or because of a traffic sign that was obscured by the overgrowth of vegetation and trees. Also, accidents can happen on poorly maintained sidewalks that have big cracks or large pools of water on them.

Failure to treat a medical condition

Medical negligence can happen in a lot of different ways in Illinois. In most cases, people think of medical negligence as a doctors' error that occurs during surgery. However, sometimes medical negligence is just as much about something that a doctor failed to do as it is about something he or she did wrong.

More vehicles recalled due to Takata airbag problems

Three German carmakers announced the recall of 2.5 million cars in the United States. The affected vehicles have problematic Takata Corp. airbags, which run the risk of exploding and shooting metal fragments into the cars. So far, 24 million vehicles with Takata airbags have already been recalled since the issue was first made public in 2009.

What are the common reasons for medical malpractice?

Medical malpractice can happen in a variety of ways, like wrong site surgical errors, misdiagnoses, medication errors and errors that happened during surgery. In most cases, malpractice claims do not result in serious injury or death and patients can recover from the errors, but in certain cases, patients can suffer debilitating and fatal consequences. For this reason, doctors should take every precaution to avoid a malpractice event. This article will discuss some of the most effective strategies doctors can employ in this regard.

  4. "Easy to talk to"

Mr. Mathys and Mr. Schneid were very professional and easy to talk to. Prior to working with them, my wife and I had no real experience with the legal system beyond a house closing, yet Mr. Mathys and Mr. Schneid explained the whole process to us very well. I knew that whenever I had a concern about our case or the legal system in general I could call their office or send an email and receive answers the same day... -Larry

In the end, he delivered a favorable result. I recommend him highly.

  7. "They went to bat for me"

Not long ago I was involved in a car accident where I was hit by a gravel truck at an intersection. After I called Mathys & Schneid, even though I didn't have a very large case, they made me feel like I was one of their most important cases. They went to bat for me with the trucking company's insurance and got me a settlement. I would definitely recommend them to my family and friends. -Dan H.
