A bicycle-car crash in Glendale Heights, Illinois caused severe injuries to the bicyclist on January 12, 2016. The crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. at the 600 block of North Avenue near Glen Ellyn Road when the bicyclist, headed eastbound in the shoulder lane, was struck by a westbound 2006 Toyota van head-on.
The bicyclist, a 29 year-old Glen Ellyn man, was rushed to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove with what police are calling “severe injuries.” No further details on the condition of the man have been released. The Glendale Heights Police Department is still trying to reconstruct what caused the crash, and is working in conjunction with the DuPage County Sheriff’s office to further investigate the matter. There have been no charges filed in relation this the crash.
