A severe car crash in Geneva, Illinois caused serious injuries to three people on January 4, 2016. The crash occurred at Third Street and Fulton Street on Monday afternoon when one car travelling southbound on Third Street crossed over the center line and collided head-on with another vehicle travelling northbound. The impact pushed one of the cars into a third vehicle, and triggered all airbags.
Three people were rushed to area hospitals via ambulance. The driver and passenger of the northbound vehicle were taken to Delnor Hospital and were admitted for further care. The passenger suffered a severe leg fracture that required immediate surgery, while the driver required an overnight admission to monitor the severity of her injuries. Police are still investigating the crash to determine why the southbound driver crossed over the center line to cause the crash, and have not released any additional information on the drivers involved.
