On November 30, 2015, at approximately 8:50 a.m., a westbound 2002 Grand Prix drove into oncoming traffic and struck a 2008 Toyota Sienna head-on in unincorporated Dorr Township. The crash occurred on Route 176 near Dean Street.
Police say the driver of the Grand Prix, a 28 year-old man, was taken to Centegra Hospital in Woodstock where he was noted to be in serious-to-critical condition before being transferred to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. The female driver of the Toyota Sienna was also taken to Centegra Hospital, where she was treated and stabilized. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash, but believe alcohol was a non-factor.
Recently, Mathys & Schneid obtained a $1.131 million settlement for a client who sustained a herniated disc injury in a rear-end car crash, the largest in DuPage County’s history for a non-paralysis spinal injury case. Mathys & Schneid litigated and prepared the case for trial using innovative computer animations and digital exhibits, but the insurance company for the defendant agreed to settle the day before trial. For more information, please see our blog entry on the settlement.
