On Behalf of | Oct 16, 2015 | Car Accidents

On October 11, 2015, at approximately 7:20 p.m., two cars crashed into each other at Fabyan Parkway and Route 31/Batavia Avenue in Batavia, Illinois. Police say that one vehicle, a 1967 Sunbeam Alpine, was eastbound on Fabyan Parkway turning left onto Route 31/Batavia Avenue when a westbound Jeep struck the Alpine.

As a result of the crash, the Sunbeam’s driver, Todd Baker, 66, of Geneva, was rushed to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. He was later pronounced dead at 1:40 a.m. on Monday. A female passenger of the Sunbeam was ejected and taken to Good Samaritan, where she remains hospitalized. Her condition is unknown at this time.

The driver of the Jeep, an 18 year-old male, was uninjured and refused medical care.

Recently, Mathys & Schneid obtained a $650,000 settlement for the family of a passenger who was killed in a single-car accident. Mathys & Schneid filed a lawsuit in the matter before the insurance company made an offer of settlement. For more information, please see our blog entry on the settlement.
