Naperville-area Pedestrian Killed in Wheaton Car Crash

On Behalf of | Sep 25, 2015 | Pedestrian Accidents

A Naperville-area woman was struck and killed near the intersection of Butterfield and Naperville Roads in Wheaton, Illinois on September 16, 2015. Police say the crash occurred around 8:00 p.m. when the driver, headed east on Butterfield Road, struck the pedestrian with the front passenger side of the vehicle.

The pedestrian, Pamela Spletter, of unincorporated Naperville, 60, was rushed via ambulance to Central DuPage Hospital after she was found unresponsive in the roadway. Spletter was pronounced dead on arrival, and a preliminary autopsy concluded that Spletter died of multiple traumatic injuries. Police are still trying to reconstruct the crash, but have not filed any charges against the driver.

Mathys & Schneid recently settled a claim on behalf of a pedestrian who was hit by a car in a parking lot, suffering injuries to her neck, head, and shoulder that ultimately required surgery to repair the rotator cuff. After Mathys & Schneid filed a lawsuit in that case, the insurance company agreed to settle the matter for $200,000.00.
