A deadly car crash in Bolingbrook, Illinois claimed the lives of 25 year-old Ariel Dorado and 20 year-old Daniel Zamora on August 8, 2015. The crash occurred on northbound I-55 near I-355, according to police around 3:00 a.m.
Investigating police officers say Dorado was driving his 2004 Dodge Stratus south in the northbound lanes when he crashed head-on into a 1998 Acura, driven by Zamora. Zamora was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from his vehicle. Both men died from their injuries at the scene. Authorities are still investigating whether or not alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
Recently, Mathys & Schneid obtained a $2,000,000 settlement for the family of two children who were killed in a highway truck crash in Effingham, Illinois. Mathys & Schneid hired two of the best accident reconstruction experts in the country who, with help from the data collected form the trucks’ Electronic Control Module (ECM), determined exactly how the crash occurred. The ECM data also proved the speed of the trucks at the time of the crash and showed that the other driver had driven too many hours in violation of the Federal Hours of Service Regulations. For more information, please see our blog entry on the settlement.
