The police are still trying to figure out who was at fault in an accident on Eisenhower, in Illinois, that took one life and left five other people with injuries. The woman who passed away was in her 20s, and she died when the car that she was in rolled over. The Illinois State Police may not know what caused it, but they did report that it happened close to Laramie Avenue, on Interstate 290.
The wreck happened right around 4:30 in the morning. Pictures from the scene show emergency vehicles all over the road, their lights flashing brightly in the dark. Another photo from the morning shows the car, still completely upside down, with the windows broken out and the door open.
By the time emergency crews arrived on the scene, the woman had already passed away. The other passengers were split up by gender, with the men going to Mount Sinai Hospital for treatment and the women going to Stroger Hospital. It appears that three of the injured were women, while the other two were men. It is not clear where in the car the woman who was killed was sitting.
Some of those who were hurt were listed as being in critical condition.
Officials closed down the highway after the accident, hoping to gather more clues as to what had happened, and they kept it closed until about eight in the morning.
