Where your injury case is all that matters

Is the Polaris Slingshot a motorcycle?

Did you ever think you could be involved in an accident and not know if it was a car accident or a motorcycle accident? While this is very clear most of the time, some new vehicles are really making the line between the two thinner than it has ever been.

Take a look at the Polaris Slingshot. It only came out a year ago, in 2014. In a lot of respects, it looks like a small convertible. It has an open cockpit and a pair of bucket seats positioned right next to each other. It has front tires that look like those on an Indy car, and it has a steering wheel.

However, it's technically a motorcycle.

The reasoning is that it only has a single wheel in the back. This means that it has to pass motorcycle safety standards, but not automobile standards. There are no roll-bars, at least not on stock models. The passenger and the driver may sit next to each other, but it is recommended that they both wear helmets while operating the vehicle.

It's often compared to a Go-Cart. The Slingshot has mirrors and traffic signals, though, and it has everything needed to make it street legal. It's far larger in profile than a standard motorcycle, but it's only required to have equipment that any other bike would need. This is very important if you are involved in a crash with one, as having a street-legal vehicle can factor into determining who is at fault.

There are a few other vehicles like this on the road, but not many. Most of the time, people who see it have no idea what type of vehicle they're looking at.

If you're involved in an accident, make sure you know what rights you have to compensation in Illinois.

  4. "Easy to talk to"

Mr. Mathys and Mr. Schneid were very professional and easy to talk to. Prior to working with them, my wife and I had no real experience with the legal system beyond a house closing, yet Mr. Mathys and Mr. Schneid explained the whole process to us very well. I knew that whenever I had a concern about our case or the legal system in general I could call their office or send an email and receive answers the same day... -Larry

  5. "Provided very wise advice"

I've dealt with attorneys on a variety of issues, almost all of them since leaving college and entering the workplace. 7. "They went to bat for me"

Not long ago I was involved in a car accident where I was hit by a gravel truck at an intersection. After I called Mathys & Schneid, even though I didn't have a very large case, they made me feel like I was one of their most important cases. They went to bat for me with the trucking company's insurance and got me a settlement. I would definitely recommend them to my family and friends. -Dan H.
