On June 24, 2015, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a motorcyclist was involved in a crash with another car at Route 59 and James Avenue in unincorporated West Chicago, Illinois. Southbound traffic on Route 59 was closed while police cleared the scene. Authorities say that the motorcyclist was taken to Central DuPage Hospital with serious injuries.

Authorities are still investigating to determine what caused the crash, and have not released any information about the drivers involved. If you have any information about the crash, the police encourage you to contact the proper authorities.

Mathys & Schneid recently settled a motorcycle injury claim for $1.25 million. In that case, our client suffered serious spinal cord and head injuries. For more information, please see our blog entry on the settlement.

If you, or anyone you know, were injured in a motorcycle or car accident, you should contact a personal injury attorney as quickly as possible to protect your interests. Your attorney will be able to help you recover compensation for your injuries from either the at-fault driver’s insurance company or through your own insurance company through uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage. Additionally, your attorney will help protect against any possible destruction of key evidence from your case.
