A minivan was rear-ended early Saturday morning while traveling southbound on I-290 in Elk Grove Village near Biesterfield Road. Police say that the at-fault driver was traveling at a high rate of speed, which likely caused the crash. After impact, the at-fault car burst into flames.
A total of seven people were injured in the crash, and were taken to local hospitals. Authorities have not revealed which hospitals are treating the victims, and their conditions are unknown at this time. Police are still investigating whether or not drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
If you, or anyone you know, were injured in a car accident, you should contact a personal injury attorney as quickly as possible to protect your interests. It’s common for the injuries caused by rear-end accidents to not develop immediately, and occasionally may take a few days to develop symptoms. Speaking with an attorney as soon as possible will help shield you from the at-fault insurance company. In addition to added protection, your attorney will be able to help you recover compensation for your injuries from either the at-fault driver’s insurance company or through your own insurance company through uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage.
