A wrong-way driver on I-290 caused a deadly car crash on January 11, 2015 when the driver collided with two other cars after entering the eastbound lanes traveling west.
The crash occurred in Forest Park, IL near the Des Plaines Avenue exit when a Chevy Trail Blazer caused a front-end collision with a Ford Econoline and another Chevy Trail Blazer, leaving at least 5 injured and 1 dead. While authorities have not released the name of the at-fault driver, police say the driver is a 22 year-old male and that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
Authorities say that at least 5 people were transported to Loyola University Medical Center. The deceased, 29 year-old Juan Carlos Salazar, and other members of his band were in the Ford Econoline at the time of the crash. The band, named “Escuela de Rancho”, was returning from a show in Milwaukee.
