Mark T. Schneid from Mathys & Schneid obtained a $1,250,000 recovery for our client who was injured in a motorcycle accident. On July 3, 2011, our 60 year-old client, a trained and certified motorcycle rider, was enjoying a Sunday morning ride on his Harley Davidson motorcycle when a driver of a mini-van pulled away from a stop sign and moved directly in front of him, forcing him to lay the bike down and slide into the side of the mini-van. Our client sustained serious head and spinal cord injuries that required multiple surgeries and a long recovery.
Mathys & Schneid filed a lawsuit in Will County, Illinois and the insurance company vigorously defended the case. The insurance company blamed our client for “riding too fast” even though the police officer and crash witnesses did not think so. Three months before the trial, Mathys & Schneid settled the case for $1,250,000, which was the maximum amount of insurance coverage available for the mini-van. The mini-van’s insurance company also paid for all property damage repairs to the Harley.
Mathys & Schneid is proud that we were able to recover every dime possible for our client, that we made the other driver finally accept responsibility and that our client will now be able to get the home health care and assistance he needs and deserves. Mathys & Schneid continues to represent motorcycle riders of all types who have been injured in motorcycle accidents in Cook, DuPage, Will, Kane and all surrounding counties.
