Toyota loses liability case, settles before punitive decision

Over 11 million U.S. vehicles made by Toyota, including many owned by Illinois residents, were recalled during the last four years for unexpected acceleration problems. Until recently, no auto defects liability case over the accelerator issue had been successful.

Fraud, malpractice cases against spine surgeon continue to grow

Many northern Illinois patients never think twice about a physician's competency. Patients are sometimes so comforted by a doctor's advanced knowledge and medical skills that they fail to consider whether a diagnosis, treatment, or medicine is right for them.

$1.25 Million Recovery for Motorcycle Accident Victim in Will County

Mark T. Schneid from Mathys & Schneid obtained a $1,250,000 recovery for our client who was injured in a motorcycle accident. On July 3, 2011, our 60 year-old client, a trained and certified motorcycle rider, was enjoying a Sunday morning ride on his Harley Davidson motorcycle when a driver of a mini-van pulled away from a stop sign and moved directly in front of him, forcing him to lay the bike down and slide into the side of the mini-van.  Our client sustained serious head and spinal cord injuries that required multiple surgeries and a long recovery.

The names of criminal charges vary state to state for drunk-driving offenses. No one felt or acted drunk after a few beers, but neither of you knew for sure whether you were capable of driving.
